| Opeation Gift Cards started by Stamford DAV Chapter #13 and Derby/Shelton Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter #1 has expanded to include 60 other units and individuals. Since October 2005, during 76 monthly/bi-monthly visits, 12,360 "Thank You" kits, including $247,200 in PX gift certificates, have been distributed to our wounded and injured troops at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland under Connecticut’s Operation Gift Cards program.
