Bingo For Patients at West Haven VA Hospital
Chapter One sponsored a Bingo For the Blind Ward at the West Haven VA Hospital on October 21st. Chapter volunteers assisted the patientsduring the bingo games. $200.00 worth of canteen books were given to the patients as prizes for the bingo games (patients are able to exchange the canteen books for items they need in the hospital gift shop). The chapter also provided fruit, milk, crackers, cheeze and coffee to the patients.

The Operation Care Packages Committee held its first collection day Saturday September 25th. Five volunteers from MOPH Chapter One collected thank you messages written by the public (for the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq) on a series of posters the chapter provided. Additional information

Corporal Laura Langdeau , USMC, was presented with a certificate of appreciation for her service to her country and for her dedication to freedom from Chapter 1 at our chapter meeting on Saturday June 5th. Corporal Langdeau is on convalescent leave after being wounded in Iraq.

Two new committees have been formed and one committee expanded. A Honor US Wounded In Iraq and Afghanistan Committee has been formed to identify U. S. service men and women wounded in either Iraq or Afghanistan and to present them with a Certificate of Appreciation. An Operation Care Packages Committee has been formed to sent care packages to Connecticut servicemen and women in Iraq or Afghanistan. The Hospital Visitation Committee has been expaned in order to visit our hospitalized or sick chapter members.
